This is a very interesting hand-carved, wooden shoulder/head mask from the Baga Tribe of Western Africa. The wearer’s head, rest under the mid-section of the piece and the lower posts are held in each hand. The head-on the top is highly stylized and beautifully detailed. This was used for ritual purposes.
