Exquisite pair of Satsume porcelain ceramic canisters with lids. The colors are beautiful and both are signed.
Satsume ware is Japanese pottery made in the Satsume Province. It was founded centuries ago and they eventually added elaborately decorated gilded polychromatic enamel overglaze designs to increase the recognition of the pottery and to appeal to a larger clientele.
